The sweet little things that keep you on his mind.
“The night before my boyfriend left for college, we were sitting in a movie theater holding hands, and he casually twisted my ring off my finger. It’s a silver ring with three small opal hearts. He slipped it onto his pinkie and told me that one of the hearts is mine, one is his, and the one in the middle is our two hearts melted together. Now he never takes it off.”
“I had this necklace with a peace symbol on it that I always wore. One night when I was hanging out with my honey, he asked me if he could see the charm. When I handed it to him, he asked, ‘Do you know that your love gives me peace of mind?’ I said yes—and he’s kept that attraction with him ever since.”
“I was at my boyfriend’s house looking through some of his stuff when I spotted a bottle of the per fume I’d worn on our first date. When he saw that I’d noticed it, he blushed and told me he’d gotten it as a way to remember the greatest night of his life.”
“Right after Halloween I brought some trick-or-treat candy to school. I gave my guy a Hershey’s Kiss. He didn’t eat it, so I just figured that he didn’t like chocolate. But later I found out he’d taken it home and put it in the freezer so that he’d have a reminder of me forever.”
“My boyfriend and I have a Song-distance relation ship, and one day when he missed me he bought a bottle of my shampoo. Now he uses it whenever he wants to feel closer to me.”
“Shortly before my guy and I met, he’d gotten a fortune cookie that said, ‘A friend will soon bring you a gift.’ A week later his best friend intro duced us. We’ve been together for more than a year, and he still carries that fortune in his wallet!”
“After my sweetie and I finished playing video games at the arcade one night, he cashed in all his winning tickets for a little heart-shaped lock. He put the lock on the chain he wears every day and then gave the key to me. That way, he told me, I’ll always have the key to his heart!”
My boy used glow-in-the-dark stickers to spell out my name on his bedroom ceiling. He says he wants my name to be the last thing he sees be fore he falls asleep so that he’ll dream about me every night.”
“My guy and t were on the phone one evening, and we were totally bumming ’cause we weren’t going to be able to see each other for a while. He told me to go look out the window and find the brightest star. ‘That’s your star,’ he said, ‘and whenever I’m miss ing you, I’ll just look at it and think of you.
“My new boyfriend and I stopped by his friend’s house so the two of them could put together this new computer system. They’re both cybergeeks, and I’m totally not, so I spent an hour staring at the floor while they worked. In my boredom, I absent-mind edly picked up a twist-tie from the computer pack aging and made a ring out of it, complete with a ’stone’ set on top. Later that night I pulled it out of my pocket and slipped it on his finger. It fit per fectly, and I haven’t seen him without it since!”
