People grow happier as they age. It’s a phenomenon you may have noticed in your own life, and now research backs it up, say scientists who’ve just completed one of the longest-ever psychological studies.
The study, which started more than half a century ago, followed 200 people from childhood through adolescence, early adulthood, middle age and retirement. By checking up on them every 10 years and measuring 73 personality traits at each visit, psychologists were able to track women through first jobs, new marriages, midlife crises and menopause. Through it all, one trend held steady: the older they got, the stronger their sense of well-being. They became more self-confident, productive and had an increasingly upbeat outlook on everyday existence.

1. Change your hair look and ask your friends which one makes you more prettier /hansom. Perhaps you frequently read the major fashion magazines, stare intently at celebrities latest hair styles and wonder whether now is the time to shear several inches-or more-from your current cut. Do it before you loose your hair.
2. Go travel by yourself to your favorite place alone, before you have to share your time with your family. The great thing about going by yourself is you get to take your dream trip, not someone else’s. And all of your fears about things like solo dining aren’t as big a deal as you think. Traveling alone can open you up to unique personal experiences in new places.
3. Making friends is not always easy. Particularly if you are introverted ; let’s face it, not all of us were born with a natural ability for social grace. Make a lot of friends and remember their names and address. Everybody likes attention (even the shy ones). Pay a little attention to people, and they’ll repay you warmly. It doesn’t take much. You will be lucky if one of them is the next Bill Gates.
