I seem to be getting at least one mouth ulcer every month
For the past six months, I seem to be getting at least one mouth ulcer every month. I’ve tried over-the-counter products and even Chinese remedies but they still keep coming back. What’s the cause of this?

While some people are prone to getting mouth ulcers, others almost never have it. There are several causes of mouth ulcers. The most common is injury from accidental biting. It can also be caused by “heatiness” (especially during dry seasons), stress, lack of sleep, hormonal changes, infection from viruses, taking certain types of medication and other less common factors. In your case, it could be that you’re not getting enough vitamin B12, iron and folic acid -considering you’re getting ulcers so frequently. Make it a point to consume more eggs, grainy cereals, leafy vegetables, fish and beef. Also, avoid the age-old practice of applying salt on the ulcer. It may cause severe inflammation that will cause great pain.
