Bleeding after sexual intercourse

I was having sexual intercourse with my boyfriend the other day and suddenly I started to bleed. My period isn’t for about another week. What’s wrong?

answer:
Was that the first time you had intercourse? It could be that your hymen (a mucous membrane located just outside the vagina) was torn during penetrative sex, which results in the bleeding. In the past, an intact membrane indicates that a girl is still a virgin, but this doesn’t apply anymore in general. A girl’s hymen may be torn while engaged in rigorous sporting activities such as horse riding, bicycling, gymnastics or even inserting tampon. If it was a torn hymen, you have nothing to worry about. But if bleeding persists, please get it examined by a gynecologist to make sure that it is not due to internal injury as result of rigorous thrusting.
