Boosted breasts with Botox?
For years, Botox has lifted frown lines on many women. (It was the top nonsurgical cosmetic procedure for women in 2006, according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.) Now, doctors in Europe and Canada are finding it may give saggy breasts a boost, too. Botox won’t change your size or shape, but it can temporarily paralyze the pectoral muscles, lifting the breast tissue. “Since Botox is temporary, and the muscle is large, it can only work on smaller breasts,” explains Nodar Janas, MD, founder of MesoBoutique, a center for nonsurgical cosmetic treatments in Great Neck, New York. Whether this procedure migrates to practices in the States still remains to be seen.
