My close friend an I applied for the same job
I’ve got a really close friend who works in the same industry as me and it turns out we’ve applied for the same job. Do you have any idea how we get through this with our friendship intact?

The same thing happened to me. My friend and I do similar work, and I was chatting to her about this job I’d applied for when she went quiet - she’d been thinking of sending off her CV too. Being the pal she is, she said she’d scrap the idea. Being the mate I am, I told her to quickly apply because the closing date was soon. We’re both ambitious, but some things aren’t worth falling out over -and a job is one of them. So agree that you won’t talk about the application, interviews, etc when you’re together and whatever happens vow there’ll be no hard feelings.
