How do you know when someone is flirting with you?
Is it by the things he says, or is it from the way he leans over the table and looks straight into your eyes? Often, a direct No fails simply because everything else about you says Hesitate, Hem and Haw, I-Don’t-Want-To-Upset-This-Person. If you say No whilst shuffling at your feet and scrutinizing your fingernails, he is not going to take it very seriously. In fact, he could even think that what you actually want is to say Yes! It’s easy to be firm with your Nos, negating all possibility of the other person coaxing you to a Yes. Firstly, maintain direct eye contact. Keep your posture erect, and stand tall! Speak clearly, and pronounce your No well - NO. Be sure that your tone is not whining and that your voice does not quaver. Use the correct facial expressions and hand gestures (shaking your head, wagging your finger, stuff like that) to really get your message across.
