Being assertive

Being assertive is not being aggressive. The point of learning how to say No is not so that you can turn down every request asked of you from now on, but so that you’re able to -if you want. But when someone does ask something of you that you do not agree to doing, don’t blurt out: “No. I hate doing that, I always have, and I’m never going to do it again!” Come on, right? You did it happily enough in the past -how are they to know you felt that way about it? Remember: They’re as used to hearing you say Yes all the time as you are. Just because you’ve found the strength to say No doesn’t mean you can snub everyone’s request without due consideration.
