Mom equates
I just finished university. My mom equates staying with her and giving her half of my salary with filial piety, but I feel differently. She feels I should do as she did for my grandma. Our rows over this is making me miserable and I haven’t even found a job. what do I do?

If you haven’t found a job yet, then surely you aren’t in a position to contribute to the family budget. So really you are arguing, I assume, about something that hasn’t happened yet? If you are going to live in your mum’s house,then she is entitled to some contribution towards your upkeep. And if you get your won place, you’ll see how expensive that is too. However, I think half your salary is way too much. Why not sit down and try to talk this through with her? Say times have changed and life’s more expensive than in her day? Offer a compromise.
