I get horny during my period
I know sex during my period is not good for me or him but during my period I get horny and would like to make love with my boyfriend. He wants it too but doesn’t want to wear a condom. Are there side-effects and will I get pregnant?

Actually sex during one’s period is quite a safe thing to engage in. There is nothing wrong with sex during periods except for the mess. If you are healthy then your discharge is not infectious and will not harm your boyfriend in anyway. If either of you is carrying an infection, one of you will either get infected or pass it on. The fact is: As long as bodily fluids come into contact there is a chance of passing or contracting infection. You need to be careful about the mess as it is blood and you must make sure you clean it up well. You may use a spare bedsheet but make sure you wash it well with disinfectant. There is no risk of you getting pregnant. However, if you do not have normal periods, then you may become pregnant. There have been very isolated cases where sex during abnormal menses resulted in pregnancy. The best thing to do is read up and understand your ovulation cycles. Once you understand this you’ll be able to predict the behaviour of your ovaries. I recommend that you read about it or chat with your gynaecologist.
