boyfriend criticizing my make-up

My boyfriend works in the fashion field and has recently started criticizing my make-up. I’ve always liked a natural look with a bit of mascara and gloss but he has lately been talking about smoky eyes and blush-laden cheeks. When I laughed these suggestions off, I thought he’d take the hint but the message that I don’t want to go there doesn’t seem to have sunk in. How can I get him to put a lid on it without causing a problem in our relationship?

Sorry but there is already a problem in your relationship. This man presumably fell in love with you not only for who you are -kinda important - but how you look, so why is he messing with your image? More disturbingly, why does he believe he even has a right to? The make-up has fallen by the wayside in this scenario. It’s all about respect and acceptance. The time has come to tell this man he takes you as you are or he doesn’t get to have you at all.
