my parents argue all the time
I’m 17 and live with my parents who argue all the time. My elder brother and sister know about this but they’re abroad. I can’t stand this and feel so frustrated. I have a huge exam this year and can’t focus. My mom has made it clear that she’s only staying because of me and this makes me feel even worse. Recently I started having nightmares about my family breaking up. What do I do?

I’m so sorry you’re having such a tough time. It’s very selfish and inconsiderate of your parents to drag you down like this, and especially for your mom to put so much responsibility onto you. Is there someone at school you could talk to about this, if only to get it off your chest? Or ring your brother or sister from time to time for support? I know it’s hard but do please try to focus on your exams as much as you can for that way lies your ultimate escape from a family that’s harming you so much. I wish you well.
