boyfriend wants to get my name tattooed
My boyfriend of six months wants to get my name tattooed into his shoulder. While part of me is flattered, common sense dictates that it might not be a good idea. We’re only 20 and what if we break up? Then he’ll have a permanent reminder of me and someday his poor wife will have to look at my name forever. How can I talk him out of this lunacy?

By saying exactly what you’ve just written to me - perhaps without the word “lunacy”. That said, it’s pretty tough to talk determined 20-year-old men out of anything so once you’ve attempted it, accept that you can do no more and luxuriate in the rock ‘n’ roll coolness of it all. Beyond that? Three words: Not your problem.
