I’m often the target of a bully
I am a very soft-natured and soft-spoken person. As a result, I’m often the target of a bully. I don’t know how to stand up for myself or defend myself. I sometimes feel like a stupid and hopeless person. Any advice on how to deal with this type of people or situation.
Answer:
You have to toughen up a bit if you want to face down the bullies who, inevitably, stalk all our lives. It’s fine to be quiet-natured and soft-spoken; no one’s asking you to change your personality. But just make your outer shell a bit stronger. Don’t be so quick or eager to be nice and willing. Instead of being soft-spoken, why not say nothing when you next feel threatened by a bully? Silence can be a very powerful weapon. So just look your bullies in the eye, smile sweetly and then turn and walk away. Believe me, nothing infuriates a bully more than not getting a reaction. Good luck.
