I have nobody to go with
Help! It’s only two weeks to my formal and I have nobody to go with. I was trying to pluck up the courage to ask my crush, but he’s already going with someone else, so I’m heartbroken. I really want to go — I’ve even got my dress picked out. What can I do now?

Leaving it to the last minute is one of those mistakes that lots of girls make when they’re trying to snag their dream date for the formal, but don’t despair — there are plenty of girls out there who have to settle for someone other than their Guy-To-Die-For when choosing a formal partner. If you still want to go to your formal, then you have three basic options:
1) Find another guy — anybody will do. A family friend, distant relative, that guy from work, a next-door neighbor, even a blind date… there are still plenty of boys out there who’d be happy to escort wonderful you to your formal. Suss it out with everyone you know — someone is sure to be able to help you find a date.
2) Go in a group. Grab a bunch of also-dateless buddies and get a table together. You’ll have lots of fun, be totally relaxed, and you won’t have missed out on a thing.
3) Go solo. The thought of walking into the hall on your own might seem a bit daunting, but you already know most of the people there and you’ll soon realise that you don’t need a guy to make your night fun.
