The Controversy Surrounding Taser’s

The Taser gun was originally designed in order to allow police officers to subdue a violent individual without actually killing them. They are particularly good as they allow a police office to arrest or take down a suspect without having to worry if a stray bullet may injure or kill an innocent civilian. In fact many police officers will attest to the fact that a taser gun such as the ones that the Taser C2 has been developed from and which will be available for civilian use is a safer way of dealing with a violent criminal or suspect.
However there has been some controversy regarding the use of this particular form of non-lethal device and since their issue in the late 1990’s to police offices they have been involved in about a 12 inmate (prisoner) and more than 50 civilian deaths in the US. So certainly with the launch by Taser International of the Taser C2 which has been developed for use by the general public it is more than likely that we will see some more deaths because of the misuse of these type of device.
Certainly there have been some studies carried out in relation to the use of taser guns and in Canada in 1989 it was found that when used on farms as cattle prods in some cases it could induce the animal to suffer a heart attack. Then in 1999 a study carried out in America concluded that some devices which delivered an electric shock weaker than that produced by a taser gun could also increased the risk of a heart attack occurring in people especially those who suffer from heart conditions. But according to many manufacturers of taser guns and after several studies that they themselves have carried out they have reported to have found that the high voltage shock that their devices produce is harmless. So the reported deaths which have been associated with the use of a taser gun are somewhat contentious.
So if you should be considering whether to purchase a taser gun such as the Taser C2 it may be wise to think carefully about whether this will provide you with the protection that you are seeking or whether it will just be a waste of your money. However, in most cases many America’s who already own some kind of taser gun will attest that they feel much safer knowing that they have one with them.
