Eyeliner tips
Is it necessary to use eyeliner underneath my bottom lashes? This tends to make my eyes look smaller, not larger. What can I do to emphasize my eyes?
Answer:
If you find lining beneath lashes closes up eyes, you’re probably right—most of us know what works on our own faces. You don’t have to skip rimming bottoms totally, though. Try using a taupe eye pencil or powder on a slanted, stiff brush— will define eyes without looking harsh. Pair with a top line in black, brown, plum, smoke, or navy. To apply, start at the inner corner with a very thin line, then work your way to outside edge. Keep line constant in width for a more natural look; to add intensity, go a bit thicker as you move along, ending in an upward slant at end of eye (slight variation of the cat’s-eye look). Note: The biggest mistake most women make when it comes to liner? Starting in the middle of lashes. This has a shrinking effect—eyes look half-baked.
