SMALL BREASTS
I’m 14, and I’ve had my period for two years now. All the boys I know like girls with large breasts. Because I’m not as well developed as other girls at school, they tease me, and say hurtful things. I’ve thought of taking hormones, but I’m afraid of how they’ll affect me in the long run. What can I do?

Although you are reaching the end of your pubertal development, your breasts may continue to change in size and shape for a little longer. The final size of your breasts will be influenced by your genetic makeup (inherited characteristics from your parents), your race and your overall weight. Women with small breasts are just as capable of breast feeding and enjoying sex as women with large breasts. Taking hormones to increase your breast size is not advisable. Breasts come in many shapes and sizes, and as long as you are healthy, it doesn’t matter how big or small your breasts are. The people at school who tease you are obviously very immature - try to ignore their childish comments, and learn to like yourself and your body the way they are.
