NusaDua
The area of Nusa Dua, which literally means “two islands” in Indonesian, is one of the premier resort areas in the world. Located 20 minutes south of the Ngurah Rai international airport, Nusa Dua is home to many of Bali’s worlds-class luxury resort hotels and only a short drive from many of the island’s attractions and beautiful beaches.
Tanjung Benoa
Located north of Nusa Dua, this is a beautiful white sand beach area where visitors can enjoy many types of water recreation and sports such as snorkeling, parasailing, diving, boating, sailing , glass bottom boating and much, much more. This area is an extension of the Nusa Dua Resort with easy access to its luxurious hotels and other tourist facilities.
Deluang Sari Turtle Farm
This farm’s goal is to promote the survival of the green turtles, which are an endangered species. The farm is located next to Tanjung Benoa, near Nusa Dua and Jimbaran Bay. The shy turtles are kept safely behind bamboo fences, so that they are safe from poachers.
Uluwatu Temple
At the westernmost tip of Bukit Peninsula, this is one of Bali’s nine “directional” kayangan jagat Temples. The location is dramatic, perched on the edge of a high cliff with a picturesque sunset view. The temple was first used for worship by the holy 1 lth century priest, Empu Kuturan, who came to Bali to bring religious law and to form Desa adat (traditional villages). The area where the spectacular sunset can be viewed is filled with the scent of frangipani blossoms and is also the home of friendly monkeys.
Gatotkaca Statue
In Mahabrata stories, Gatotkaca was depicted as a very brave and powerful knight, the son of Bima , one of the five Pandawa brothers. The extremely striking Gatotkaca Statue is not only intended to beautify the landscape around Bali’s airport, but is also aimed at providing spiritual protection and safety for all incoming and outgoing flights.
Kuta Beach
A visit to Bali is not complete without the Kuta experience and Kuta beach has become a key destination for visitors. One of the primary attractions is the long sweep of white sand of the picturesque bay plus the stunning Kuta sunset.
Sadha Kapal Temple
This temple is famous for its intricate and ingenious decorative carvings. Dating back from the time of the Majapahit empire, the Sadha Kapal Temple originally was an old dynastic sanctuary for the kings of Mengwi. The split gate and 16-meter high tower inside the temple are constructed very much like “candi or temples in Java” and the 64 stone seats, similar to megalithic ancestral shrine.
Taman Ayun Temple
“Taman Ayun”, which literally means beautiful gardens, is located in the village of Mengwi, 18 kilometres West of Denpasar, and is indeed one of Bali’s most picturesque temples. One of the kings of Mengwi, I Gusti Agung Anom, built the stately proportioned courtyards and large surrounding moat in the year 1634. Containing not only royal family ancestral shrines but also the storied Mery shrines to the major Balinese deities, Taman Ayun Temple became the most important temple of the ancient kingdom of Mengwi
Indonesia Jaya Reptile Park
Located in Mengwi, the park covers more than two hectares, and is. home to many reptiles including the Komodo dragon, as well as many kinds of crocodiles, cobras, pythons, and various lizards. Apart from reptiles, this park also presents the “Debus” trance plus amazing fighting demonstrations between men and crocodiles.
Traditional Village of Baha
The people of Baba are members of a traditional farming community, who own wide rice fields, and by the Subak organization that mainly functions to regulate water distribution for irrigation. The uniformity of the typical entrance gates of the family compounds combined with the traditional housing present a truly charming village.
Sangeh Monkey Forest
The northern part of the village of Sangeh is a holy forest, encompassing about 14 hectares, filled with Pala trees village and here hundreds of monkeys live. The trees cannot be found on any other part of Bali and their existence in Sangeh remains a mystery.
Ayung River Rafting
The river Ayung is the longest and largest river in Bali, and this is where white water rafting was first introduced in Bali. To experience rafting on the river Ayung’s west side is amazing, because in addition to the enjoyment of the challenging rapids, the panorama of this beautiful, area is highlighted by many wild animals along the rafting route such as large bats, black monkeys, and many birds.
Petang & Pelaga villages
Located 800 metres above sea level, about 45 kilometres North of Denpasar at the northernmost point of the Badung regency, the charming villages of Petang and Pelaga are very interesting agro-tourism areas. Produce includes a vast array of vegetables as well as coffee and vanilla.
Nungnung Waterfall
Nungnung is a small village some 40 kilometres North of Denpasar and about 900 meters above sea level where one can see the beautiful 50 metre high waterfall as well as expansive rice terraces nearby.
