What Your Child Really Wants to Say

Complaint; “No fair! You always read longer to Maggie.” 

Translation: “I wish I could spend more time with you.” Complaint; “No fair! Alex gets to do everything because he’s older.” Translation: “I’m frustrated because there are things I can’t do yet.” Complaint; “No fair! You like her better than you like me.”    

 

Translation: “I want to hear why I’m special to you.”
